General Mach Discussion / Re: Useing 2 moters for X move

If you are running 1 motor on each side of a gantry you will have to set one to rotate  in the oposit direction. In the ports & pins menu Motor Outputs  the box for Dir Low Active needs to be checked for A axes

Chip,
I set up for running Mach3 in Sherline 1/2 Step Mode and so far that seems to have done the trick.

Thankyou very much
Dave

Hi Chip

The laser uses its own cam software (Cadman) to convert dxf files
When I setup my table I used 2” throw dial indicators and the DRO. The steps were within .001-.002
(509 steps per inch).
As for as Sherline mode I’ll try it and let you know.
I don’t have any backlash and it’s not setup in MACH3.

Thanks

I cutthis same file on the laser where I work and it cut fine. this happens to a lot of my files.
I attached the dxf and the tap files. also these files where converted with SheetCam.

Solved my problem, it was a loose wire. For anyone else with the motor jitters at low speed, check and check again your wiring.

I to am having the same jumpy problem at low speeds with my X axis using the 4 axis Mechatronics board.
I switched from a Xylotex 4 axis board that ran fine until a lack of proper grounding on my plasma cutter messed it up some how.
The Mechatronics board has a lot of good features so I’m hoping some how we can figure this out. I look forward to watching this forum post
