General Mach Discussion / Where did my setup file go?
« on: November 08, 2007, 02:08:08 PM »
Hey All,
I'm hoping someone can help me out quickly.  I just upgraded from 2.48 to 2.58 and I seem to have lost my setup file (.xml).  I looked in the folder called xmlbackups but still can't seem to find the file that I used  just days ago.  Now, when I start Mach3, it wants to use the default values for I/O, motor tuning etc.  I can probably find the file by date in the xmlbackup folder, but how do I get back as my default profile?  I tried just renaming, and moving to the Mach3 folder but that doesn't seem to work.  I'm sure I'm missing something simple.

Please help!

EDIT>>>>>> Nevermind.  I found my answer with Restore

Well, the hotkeys fixed the problem and I really appreciate the help.  However, I did run into another problem with this new pendant that maybe you can help me out with.  It seems to be working fine with jogging in all directions EXCEPT you cannot jog while using the pendant on the Toolpath page.  On every other page e.g. diagnostics, MDI etc. it works fine.....just not on the Toolpath page where I tend to make all my jogging final adjustments.  I've also left a message for the pendant manufacturer(who has been very responsive), but there is a huge time difference between us.

Any ideas???

Thanks again,
Joe

General Mach Discussion / Z axis jogging on Mach3 pendant
« on: March 07, 2007, 12:24:50 PM »
Hey folks,
Can anyone help me out with this?  I purchased a Mach2/3 pendant from lowcostcncretrofits in Austrailia ( you can see the model I bought here http://www.lowcostcncretrofits.com/jog%20remote.html#jog%20info ) It claims to need no driver or anything for that matter.  Just plug it in and go.  Well, I did that and both X & Y seem to be working fine, but I get nothing for the Z axis.  Is there something that needs to be tweaked in Mach3 for this to work?  I sure hope it's as easy as that.  Getting this shipped here to the US took forever and I would hate to have to send it back.

Thanks much,
Joe

Edit: Oooooppppppsssss.. pull the trigger to fast.  I figured out how to do it in HotKeys.  Is that right???

General Mach Discussion / Problem with very simple test
« on: February 14, 2007, 01:44:57 PM »
In learning how to use VCarve Pro (3.1), I ran into a problem I just don't understand and I don't believe that the problem is coming from VCarve, but I could be wrong.  I am currently using the most recent version (2.00 build 48) of Mach3.  When using the HobbyCNC profile (HCNCMill) to cut a simple circle, I get an error that says: "Radius to end of arc differs from radius to start on line number 10".  If I restart Mach3 with Mach3Mill profile, there is no error but my system will not work, since it needs the HCNCMill profile.  Everything else seems to be working fine with the HCNC profile.  I've successfully done the Bulls Head tutorial (VCarve) and squares and other test, but it seem to not like circles.

Any ideas???

Thanks much,
Joe
