General Mach Discussion / 2 axis lineborine machine
« on: May 01, 2024, 05:02:17 PM »
Hello.
I'm using Mach3 to control a lineboring machine.
The machine is 2 axis:

1 is a stepper motor (Nema 34) for axis X, The other is a 130 servomotor for axis Y.

I don't need to run any Gcode in this machine, i basically only need to jog the motors and run the in "velocity mode" where i choose the speed very specifically.
but i need something tricky, I need to move axis X coordinated with axis Y, so that i choose the velocity of each motor independently.

I know probably mach3 isn't the most straightforward option for this, but can it be done?

Also, the Y axis will either run very fast or extremely slow, at controlled speed, but

Hello.
I have been trying to edit my profile (in this case, it is Mach3 plasma with scriber and backlash compensation from sheetcam) to do a very specific task.

I want to activate a second output (relay that opens the circuit, feeding voltage to my Proma SD), just a specified amount of miliseconds after M03 turns on.

This specified amount would have to be a user input on the screen, and then everytime it does M05 it would also turn it off (instantly, no need for delay)

Any suggestions on a technique to achieve this?

Hello. I have a original Mach3 License and am trying to move the Z axis in my plasma machine with a proma thc. i have wired everything correctly and inputs "torch on" and "torch up" and "torch down" power on as intended in my diagnostics page (at the same tame as they do in the proma thc screen).

i have all axis with nema23 stepper motors, wired to their drives and to the controller.
I'm using the PROMA THC 150, and using a Langmuir red mach3 board.

For some reason, Mach3 is also blinking Output6 while using this proma. not sure why.
My Output 1 (plasma switch relay) is working fine.

But, after a lot of testing and trying things, i can't get the Z axis to respond to these up/down signals, so it stays fixed at 1.50mm height mid cut (i have a floating head setup, and i am using the sheetcam post processor "mach3 plasma with thc scriber and backlash compensation" and it has worked well so far without thc).

Any ideas on what i could be doing wrong? Willing to pay for help as i'm desperate with bigger metal parts late on production which require thc!
