Mach4 General Discussion / avid 4896 plasma SPURIOUS LIMIT HOT LATCH EVENT

the machine has been acting up recently, plasma cut program was being interrupted and stopped due to "ess hardware velocity fifo ran out of data". i ran most recent warp 9 smooth stepper program, deleted all irrelevant programs from control laptop. again plasma cut program interrupted and stopped. now i cannot get access to the machine through mach4, " clearing a spurious limit hit latch event". this is first problem i have had in 2 yrs plasma cut operations?
