Hi Hood,
Happy Easter to you. As always, you are there to help me, I thank you for that. Should I redirect this problem to Greg? May be there is an update to the plugin. How do you remove the ESS's power for a few second only, without closing Mach?

General Mach Discussion / Loosing control application error
« on: April 18, 2014, 01:23:34 PM »
Hi All,
I have to come back again to the forum, because my router is acting up after a winter shut down. Everything worked fine after last year's change over to the Ethernet  Smooth Stepper.
Now, when I'm running a job and have to stop, by clicking on the red stop button, I get this error message: Loosing control Application Error. The instruction at "0x3a303030 referenced memory at 0x3a30303" The memory couldn't be read. Click OK to terminate program.
When I try to restart Mach I get this error: CTftp:: Wake up client board doesn't reply.  Also sometimes when I click on the Feed hold button the spindle stops running.
Is it Mach3 or the Smooth Stepper that creates this problem?
Appreciate any help I can get.
Mike

General Mach Discussion / Re: Spindle starts on closing Mach

Hi All who helped me,
It's been 3 months since my last post regarding this problem, and I'm happy to report I haven't had problems with the spindle. Since the implementation of the ethernet smooth stepper, there were no more crashes. The longest cycle time was 11 hrs on a job.
Merry Cristmas to All

General Mach Discussion / Re: Brains and MPG from CNC4pc.

Hi Mc2,
I too have an MPG2 from CNC4PC, but for the love of God can't get the increment selector to work on it The brain that he supplied doesn’t address that function. Could you share your revised brain with me? Other than this, I'm using the MPG.

General Mach Discussion / Re: can't see Mach driver in device manager
« on: August 24, 2013, 02:49:17 PM »
Thank again Hood,
I actually downloaded the .062 version of Mach this morning, and while waiting for your reply, I changed to that version. I think there has to be a correct match of ESS and Mach, or they won't work right. I tried different versions of Mach and also different  ESS versions. Each time different problems arise. Right now, the .062 seemed to have solve my mdi and mpg step functions. Because my program would take over 9 hours to run, I 'll wait till tomorrow to start it. Keep my fingers crossed. I'm forever grateful to you for all your help in the past. By the way, I think I solved my issue with the spindle starting when Mach is closed. I simply enabled the charge pump on output tab, and set it to my spindle step pin. So far so good.

Thanks Hood,
I didn't know that.
Any thought on the MPG's step not working?

General Mach Discussion / can't see Mach driver in device manager
« on: August 24, 2013, 09:38:22 AM »
Hi,
I don't think my Mach3 R 3.043.057 is working right. I don't see the Mach driver in the Device manager for one. Using the ESS Smooth stepper v10n1db1b. Here is what's not working right at the moment. Get all sorts of status messages, very annoying. never had them before. Work offsets not saved. Mdi-ing speed commands work, but not the axis moves. On fly out MPG Step function doesn't work. By the way, I'm using an MPG2 pendant, that also gives error massages. I like to download the newer Drivers Test.exe, can't find it anywhere,

Hi Guys,
I thank you All for your help on this spindle problem. I think I solved it, it was a setting in Mach's Output page. I enabled the charge pump, set it to Port1, Pin16 (my step signal for the spindle), active low. I may add that there is no physical charge pump in my system.

General Mach Discussion / Breakout board
« on: August 23, 2013, 07:33:59 AM »
Hi All,
Is anyone using the Bob Campbell's combo break out board with an Ethernet smooth stepper? Can a VFD be controlled thru this board?
