G-Code, CAD, and CAM discussions / Re: DXF import into Lazycam
« on: March 23, 2009, 07:46:46 PM »
Hi, I am using LamCam with TruboCad and I had the same problem. I was able to solve the problem by drawing in model space, setting a origin, and then saving the drawing as a ..dxf file.  Best Regards

LazyCam (Beta) / Re: Pocket Problems????
« on: March 22, 2009, 11:09:14 AM »
Hi, after a long night of experimentation with pockets, I tried replacing the outside set of pockets with offsets. It is a bit tedious but it works well. I am very happy. Have a good one and thanks for the help.

LazyCam (Beta) / Pocket Problems????
« on: March 22, 2009, 02:20:39 AM »
Hi, I am having problems with LazyCam ver. 3.02. I created a .dxf file that needs a pocket within a pocket with a pocket. I set the tool, rapid height, start cut, and cut depth for each pocket. The last pocket data over rides the data I set for the other pockets. Is there a method for creating a pocket within a pocket within a pocket? I check all the values for the cut information before posting the G code to Mach 3 and all is ok. I switch to Mach3 to run the code I get a software limit error, then when I return to LazyCam all the pocket information has changed. Not sure what is going on has anyone else had this problem and been able to resolve it? Thanks in advance for help received.

General Mach Discussion / Re: Problem with repeatability????

Hi, Thanks for the support. I have a new machine and the drive belt needed to be tighten. After that, the operation improved.  I plan on using the machine to fabricate Vertical Axis Wind Turbine parts. All is working well and I am very happy with the purchase. Thanks again and have a good one.

Hi, I am using a Zenbot with Mach 3 software. I run some G code and then run the same code again without changing the cut piece and the second cut is not the same as the first. Is there a method for correcting this problem?  Thanks in advance for any feedback received.

General Mach Discussion / Need help Z axis setup???
« on: March 15, 2009, 05:32:04 PM »
Hi, I am using TurboCad, LazyCam, and Mach 3 software with a Zenbot CNC router Mill. The training videos said to setup the Z axis at the top of the slide to zero and the bottum to -4 for the software limits. When I load the G code from LazyCam to the Mach 3 software the code contains Z values greater then Zero and the software limits kick in. How do I deal with problem? One more question, What is a good feedrate for the RotoZip wood bit? Thanks in advance for any feedback received.
