I am having a problem with MACH3 with the VISTA SCREEN SET and it is driving me crazy.

I have referenced all axis and they are correctly moving to the reference positions. The DRO's read 0.0000

My problem is that when I program a

    n06 G73 x0 y0 z-0.4 q0.125 r0.1 f6
    n07 x1

The machine will drill the first hole correctly but will not move to x=1.000 that that the command line calls for. The DRO Indexes but the X axis is not moving. I understand that the G73 command is modal and that the n07 line is telling the machine to move to x=1.00 and execute the M7e command which the ANSI standards say is amodal until another cG command id instituted.

I can Jog the X axis via the MPG. It works and the DRO only updates as I turn the MPG

    If I MDI the command g0 x1.000
the machine will not move the X axis.but the DRO increments as if it was moving.

MY skill set is old world and I am 71 so my thinking is there is something wrong
    with MACH in the settings.

General Mach Discussion / DRO INCREMENT WHILE AXIS IS STATIONARY
« on: April 15, 2013, 07:02:15 PM »
I am having a problem with MACH3 and it is driving me crazy.

I have referenced all axis and they are correct and all move to zero

My problem is that when I program a

n06 G73 x0 y0 z-0.4 q0.125 r0.1 f6
n07 x1

The machine will drill the first hole correctly but will not move to x=1.000
The X axis DRO increments as if the axis was moving but there is no motion.

I can Jog the X axis via the MPG.

If I MDI the command g0 x1.000
the machine will not move the X axis.

MY skill set is old world and I am 71 so my thinking is there is something wrong
with MACH in the settings.

FAQs / MAYDAY, I NEED HELP
« on: April 05, 2013, 05:58:23 PM »
I am an old timer who has been to the CNC WORKSHOP and lived with MACH3 CNC for years.

My problem just started occuring the other day, and I am tearing out what little hair I have left.

I am probably the guilt party on this problem as the machine was running perfectly until yesterday.

When I started the Machine and computer up yesterday, my problem began. When I hit reference all, the Z and Y axis zero out perfectly.  The X axis is not referencing out and when it does it stops at the limit switch ,AND INDICATES A VALUE X=-0.0219 TRIGGERING A RESET.  If I reset the x limit switch and attempt to reference the X axis it moves to the limit switch and now will show a value X = -0.0439.  If I do it again it will give me a reading of X=-0.0658 or an increase of -0.02195.

I understand that the machine is getting this value from some register, and I cannot figure out the solution.  If any of the hero's out there can help me I would be very appreciative.

I just got back to using MACH3 and everything seemed to be okay.  My problem came to light when I was JOGGING and the the X & Y axis motions moved correctly. but the DRO's showed that the +X & +Y Jog were reading with negative values.  I cannot remember where this is controlled and need one of you guru's to set me straight.

I say again the Jog buttons work correctly the X+ moves the table to the left,  the table is moving in the correct POSITIVE direction the DRO seems to think I am moving in the negative direction.  What did I do wrong?

I am facing a new problem tuning a set of 4 320 gecko drives. I am using the following system:

Software:  Mach3
computer:  Dell c640 2.o GHZ INTEL PROCESSOR
           1 mbyte ram
Interface; SoundLogic Combo Board, from Campbell Design

Servo:
  Power Supply: 65 VDC 10Amp
  x & y servos: 875 InOz
  z servo       1125 In0z

My problem is that regardless of the settings of the three pots, I get faulting.  I have reduced the speed, to 50 IPM and 15 sec acceleration. The Step and direction pulses are set at 5.

I set up mach3 with a kernal speed of 25KHz.  I can function the jog but it will fault out every time.

Any help will be appreciated.  We scoped GECKO output and cannot get the dampening correct. The motors seem to be tuned correctly, they will hum when you attempt to over-power the servo.
