General Mach Discussion / Z axis hits upper limit switch mach 3
« on: January 30, 2023, 02:31:01 PM »
I'm having trouble with the Z axis raising and hitting the upper limit switch when I start to run a file.  As soon as I hit cycle start the Z axis raises and hits the limit switch.  This problem seems to have started after I had to replace z motor driver.  I have two laptops.  The same file runs fine on one but not the other.  I compared all the setting in ports and pins and homing and limits between the two laptops and they are the same.  I checked safe z settings in mach3 and they are the same.  Here's what I'm using:

Runs fine on this one
PC, Windows 11
Mach3 w/license
Vcarve Pro

Z axis hits upper limit switch on this one
PC, Windows 10
Mach3 w/license
Vcarve Pro

Have I missed a setting some where?  Could mach3 be corrupted on the win 10 machine?  Any help would be appreciated.

General Mach Discussion / Mach3 looses machine zero position
« on: May 27, 2021, 11:37:11 AM »
Hi all I'm new to cnc machining and have only done 2 simple carvings.  I'm using a Gatton cnc machine with a g3 controller and running mach3 on a windows 10 laptop.

My problem is I can zero the machine to the left front of the table and jog anywhere on the table and hit go to zero and the machine will return to the homed position.  However when I put the machine in work coordinates and zero for my cut after I run a code and put the machine in machine coordinates and hit go to zero the x and y axis do not move.  The z axis will travel up to the soft limit and then back to the part zero.  When I shut the whole system down and restart mach3 machine has to be reset.  I'm thinking I may have a corrupt file in mach3.  Any advise would be helpful.  Thanks in advance.
