my machine axis motors stopped moving , I could see the gcode line in Mach 3 still continuing scrolling down. I stopped the feed and then clicked on Stop button. Noted the gcode line# .My power supply felt very hot .Suspect its overheating caused the motors to stop moving. SHUT EVERYHTING DOWN TO LET COOL OFF.

Saved fixtures work offset before shut down all.

I know where on material the motors stopped .How do I start from that spot again in mach 3 after all is cool down again? Don't want to have to restart from very beginning again as program was about 4 minutes from finishing .
Been looking in the manual but cant seem to find a direction in there . Any help appreciated.

Thanks

Andy

General Mach Discussion / Mach 3 stopped in middle of cutting file
« on: December 21, 2013, 09:39:53 AM »
Good day. Am using mach 3 on a blackfoot cnc .Was cutting a  50 minute vcarve pro file and stepped out of shop for about 10 minutes. when returned mach 3 was stuck on 1 line of code about middle of cutting file .this is 1st time this has happened and I was not sure how to resolve this to complete cutting file.
What recommend if happen again in future?

My table has 4 limit switches . 1 for x++, 1 for x-- which is also x home, 1 for y++, 1 for y-- which is also y home.They are wired in series , normally closed , port 1 pin 11.
I was referencing the x-axis, gantry going towards the x-- switch when I accidentally touched the x++ limit switch(was vacuuming the table) . could not get mach 3 up running with limit switches as I had to go into port and pins and deactivate the switches. Changing the active low/high setting didnt make a difference.
The switches were working great before when referencing as the gantry would touch the switch and then automatically back off just enough so the switch would close again.
I suspect a bad limit switch and will check them by checking my wires for any breakages and the switches themselves for continuity. meantime I'm cutting without limit switches.
Anybody have similar experience?Help.

General Mach Discussion / How to set table size and limit home switches
« on: November 05, 2012, 03:56:27 PM »
I have 4 limit/home switches set to pin 11  active low ,wired normally closed in series for x++, x--,y++,y--. Will use Z zero at top of maximum travel on z axis. My table is roughly 48" wide x 76" long.I want to set my tabel size in machine coordinates and reference x & y axis.
I think I'll be needing a step by step guide as to how to set this up.Tried to reference all home but Mach3 is not backing away from the limithome switch when it triggers it open.
Thanks in advance
Andy
