Title: Is not 10 bits 1024 ?
Post by: RadiantHeat on November 12, 2008, 06:19:17 PM
I always considered '10 bits' to be 10 bits , you know  0-1023 digits ?   AND ON POKEYS MANUAL PAGE 7

Analog output function is only available for pin 43. It is possible to set analog output voltage for this pin with 10-bit resolution. Console application or third party control application must be used to set a value for this pin!

YET ON PAGE 14 ! ! ! ! !

To Set analog output value
Command line: PoKeysConsole.exe –b<pin ID>,value
Description: Sets the digital output to specified value. Value can be any number between 0 (0 V) and 255 (3.3 V).
Example: PoKeysConsole.exe –c1 –b43,50

 0 to 255 is 8 bits , not 10 !

Hi!

I can not give you answer now, as I am on electronica fair in Munich until the end of the week.
PoKeys have hardware 10 bits DA converter. If software supports 8 bits only it will be added in next release. Probably is some typo in a manual.
Will inform you next week.

regards

Boris

I checked in our sw dpt. It is typo in manual. It will be corrected in new release.
You can use 0...1023.
