Hi everyone,
I have a problem with with my ez-router machine it loses home when cutting. It will cut fine for a time then it loses home and will cut the next line several inches off. I have had the machine for two years and the files have cut great for a long time also I tried new files and still have the problem. I can jog the machine on all axis with no trouble. It only
happens on the y axis. I have V-crave pro, 3dcut and vectorcut machinist and the problem is the same with all.
Thanks Max

Max, are you there when it jumps? Sounds like it is either skipping steps or you have a mechnical slip going on somewhere like a pulley slipping on a shaft for example.

Yes I can see it when it stalls. I have checked the pulleys and they are tight. I took one motor lose and then the other it still happens even with one motor. It happens after several lines have cut about line 58 to 66 everything is fine up to that time. I have tried different files and it happens. I cut a knife handle out fine with small cravings and it worked great, but as soon as I went back to the large cuts (18inches) it started again.
It's got me stumped.

Try swapping your drives around for each axis and see if the problem moves with the drive.

I found the trouble.
I changed a belt the other day and got it way to tight.
Thanks to all for the help.
