Title: digitizing
Post by: reset131 on June 26, 2006, 10:29:12 PM
How do I get data into Rhino3  from Mach2 or Mach3 when using the digitizing wizard?  It appears that the data goes to a txt file.  Any suggestions regarding translation into a Rhino compatable format?
thanks ken

I don't know Rhino but you are loading a point cloud :)

Take your data file and rename it with a .txt extension  (the Mach3  3d plugin leaves off the .txt extension!)

Then in Rhino just Open>File and scroll down to the file type "Points File (.....*.txt) and select that.
Rhino will display your point cloud as a web of dots.

Rhino needs the .txt extension to see your data file.

That much I found out yesterday!
