Post by: dodiano on June 26, 2006, 06:26:09 PM
HI,

I´m not sure if this is the right forum to post this I use AutoCad and I want to cut solid shapes for example I have a square 1/2 Inch thick wood and in the midle of that square I want to cut another square only 1/4  of an inch Thick in depth, how do I accomplish that in my drawing software say Autocad that will be recognised by Mach 2??

Thanks.

You will need Cam software to read the 3D solids :(  LazyCAM will only take in a 2d file.... Google "Cam CNC" That should get you started :)

What If I want to open holes for example just a round hole to put screws in ?? How can I set that on the machine?? Should I set like a small dot on the drawing for example??

Regards.

Are you talking about teaching the machine the position? If so there is the teach wizard but it will not do points at this time :(

If you would like to do it with AutoCad you can save it as a 2D file and all points will be drilled
