Hello,
Any suggestions on where to purchase a 24 pin parallel cable for connecting the parallel port to the breakout board?
These buggers are sort of a thing of the past and kinda hard to locate these days.
Thanks,
Kerry

Would probably help to know where in the world you are. I can tell you where to get one in California, but that won't be much help if you live in Lithuania....

Good point! I'm in Minnesota USA.

is this the 25pin cable you mean? or is it the ribbon cable that you are referring to?

Office depot had both 25 pin cables and gender changers.

Yes I need the 25pin cable.
One end of the cable plugs into the parallel port on the back of the computer and the other end plugs into the ribbon cable that goes to the BOB.
I am hoping to find an online source since there is no Office Depot nearby.
Thanks,
Kerry

Just Googling "parallel printer cable" gets bazillions of places that sell them....
-
Yep and all bazillion of them seem to have USB plugs on one end which is no good for this application.
The cable needs to have the 24 pin male plug on both ends.

Kerry,
You're really not trying very hard....
First hit: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/category/category_slc.asp?CatId=76 scroll down to items 6-9
Third hit: http://www.cablemakers.com/parallel-cables.htm scroll down to IEEE-1284 cables
Fourth hit: http://www.computercablestore.com/c_serial_and_parallel_cables.aspx Second item on the right
BTW - The connectors are 25-pin, specifically DB-25M

Thanks for the links Ray, they really help.
Knowing the correct number of pins helps a lot too.
