Title: PCB dxf conversion problem

I’m having problem to create PCB.  I created circuit in Proteus Isis/Ares and created dxf file from Ares.  I opened dxf file in lazy cam and all rails came out as separate rectangles as you can see in the picture.  I can manually connect them but it’ll probably take me some time.  Also pin pads came out wrong but that’s another problem.  Can anybody tell me please, is there a proper way to do it to get properly file converted?  If I have to buy another program is not a problem just please point me to the right direction.

I just opened the file in Rhino and it looks like Proteus Ares makes dxf file with rectangles.  I attached dxf file as well for you to take a look.  Can you suggest any tips to convert somehow from Proteus to gcode?

Unfortunately Almaz, I will be of no help in this case as I know nothing about that program and PC board creation.

Almaz,
Took a look at the DXF in two different CAD programs. I could probably redraw it quicker for a better DXF import into Lazycam. I say that, only in light that Lazcam would generate outline profile cuts ( i never did a PCB so excuse the lack of knowledge). There are lines, fill / cross hatching, extra liines, unconnected segments, you name it in the DXF.
BTW, the linestrings in CAD are not boxes but actually closed shapes if you get rid of the cross hatching boxes. I can't speak for the programs you mention, but will say, that all programs do not DXF out and import equaly.

So no answer specificaly to your programs, but suggest you may check and see if there are some settings for DXF'ing the file out of those programs for an improved import to lazycam.

Take a look at Dave's recomended topic link as there is some specific info in there for PCB gcode file generataion.

Hey,Almaz

check your dxf export setting,and make sure you are using standard dxf-12 -- i did a import and then a export to dxf-12 and made you a lcam file.is this what it is suppose to look like.

Bill, question for you since I know nothing about PCB design.

In your dxf, some of the holes are single holes and some are double holes that the traces lead to, what is the reason for those?

Almaz did the dxf,i just filtered it to show him that he is doing something with his cad that lcam can't work with.but i will take a guess and say they are for thru holes and solder control.
