I just wanted to post so I didn't get deleted from the forum... I designed a production drill quill for the aerospace industry--essentially it drills holes in expensive (REALLY EXPENSIVE) nuts and bolts. I utilized a single screen wizard and a software keyboard overlay so that all the operators have to do is touch a box, key in new settings--spindle speed, drill start position, drill finish depth, number of pecks, number of holes, etc. After pressing a "save settings" button on the touch screen the g-code is generated in the background. It was kind of important that they not see the g-code. A couple of vb scripts and some help from other posters was all that was needed to get this project going.
