Title: New low priced MPGs and Pendants for the home cnc market
Post by: byellin on June 16, 2006, 10:37:12 PM
I've just opened up a new shop for business, catering to the home cnc and small business machining markets. A while back, I was looking for an inexpensive MPG or pendant for my retrofitted mini-mill, but was dissapointed to find nothing offered in the home machinist price range, so I designed one myself. Art Fenerty was using one of these at the cnc workshop last month, and also discussed another one of our new products with several of the attendees. The Jog-Dial is in stock and ready to ship, and the Jog-Bot, a new style pendant that uses buttons like a stopwatch for axis selection, jogging, and OEM triggers is in development and near completion. There's a picture of both the MPG and the new pendant design in the products section - look here

for more information.  Thanks for looking!

Has anyone in the group had any experience with Homecnccontrol's Jog-Dial?  Any comments?  It does look like a nice product.

Thanks,

Chuck

Hey all,

I can testify to this MPG, I got one from him, and it is excellent and affordable. I have the ones that Peter ordered a while back, and in testing between the two. No real practical difference in performace was noted.  The workman ship is excellent. The price is the best I have found. I had asked for a special type of MPG with selector buttons past what his current selection allows. He spoke with me personally, and was extreamly helpful in deciding the setup and price was acceptable.

Hello Scott,

Thanks for the recommendation on Homecnccontrol's MPG.  I saw this MPG at Galesburg last May and it did look nice.   Is Peter the fellow who operates Homecnccontrols?

Regards,

Chuck

Hey Chuck,

I was at Galesburg also (I did the OneCNC CAD/CAM demo/class). The guy that makes them, his name is Bob Yellin. I think he is out of TX somewhere. He is the designer of the new low cost ATC for the Tormach and Sig type mills, he has a listing on "thelittlemachineshop" dot com.

His products are really geard towards the "Home CNC guy", and his prices relflect that.
