Hi all, anyone have computer case dxf's? Such as parallel ports, serial ports, case fan cutouts? Things like that?
I've heard sometimes manufacturers have these available, anyone know where?
Thanks!

Dave,
I think there is a parallel and serial one in the New Fangled Solution Suite. As far as fans HM... just try a few sites as many times they have a CAD library for what they sell. For a fan all you need is a hole of proper diameter which you can manualy
code or get from the wizards.

Dave.
These are all I have right now, attached.

whoops, I'll try again

Thanks, Ed- :)
Rich: I actually don't own the NFS wizards as of yet, but thanks for the thought. ;)

Hi Ed,
The dxf is not working at all in either solidworks or ProgeCAD. Can someone else try to open this dxf?
Thanks,
Dave

Sorry, try this one. Its an autodesk inventor dwg. should be able to open .
Ed

Ed, I truly appreciate you trying to help but that one gives me errors as well.

Try these Dave.

Another that may help. The Mobo is a micro ATX. Check dimensions to be sure.

Perfect, thank you as always, Brett- :)
Again, thanks, Ed and Rich ;)

Dave,
Here is a link to "cadforum" with all kinds DXF or dwg files for not only electrical but other discipline related components.

Sorry Dave,
Thanks Brett.

And Thanks Rich.

newark and digikey have some for download , not a library but some of the individual items have dxf files to download

No problem guys. Ed, no reason to be sorry. You get an A for effort. :)

If you look at Autocadd and Microstation associated sites you will find a wealth of all kinds of "stuff". Even if they are block
or cell libraries they can always be converted. Just be carefull as some can be just fancy shapes and not really done to proper dimensions. My problem is I download all this "stuff" and can't find it when I need it! Hmm....that remark kind of reminds me of my brain.

You guys are great, thanks again.
Here's a quick dxf for the 80mm case fan (in inches lol!)

Dave,
Here is a dxf I just cut a female db25 cutout with, works great. I used a 1/8 mill cutter for everything, may need to edit as I was test cutting 1/4 lexan scrap.

Well I found it, happen to leave it in a hotel while in S.C., this time put a note on it so it won't get lost. ;)
Code for DB25, 1/8" dia cutter. with .1 depth and retract, modify for your speed.
DXF file which was created from back plotting of the G CODE to a DXF file. That program I posted or noted in another post works great. Just remove a few lines of code and you got it.

Thanks once again, I think I have a nice choice of db25 cutouts now :D
This is all part of my Taig CNC project. I still have the motor carriage to work on but I'm getting there- lol!
