Title: How do I remove this out of the gcode
Post by: davy182 on August 24, 2008, 10:27:12 PM
How can I remove the N35  Z0.7200  and all the ones just like it. I have been doing it manually and that sucks on some of the larger codes I create.

Davy, how are you generating the code? Is this a safe z move?

The z height of .72 is added in somehow. No matter the shape with a multiple depth cuts it adds it in, instead of just going to the next depth.

Davy,
One way to make editing a little easier is to open the file with Microsoft Word.
Then use EDIT>FIND>REPLACE Z******************x
                               REPLACE WITH (Z******************x)
                                check REPLACE ALL

Hi, Davy

Try this post below, It has one Issue, It doesn't like final pass less than a Full "Pass Depth" in Tool setings, Sometimes, See Pic.

It needs to be in your C:\Mach3 Folder to set it in Lazyam.

Hope this Helps, Chip

Here is the lcam file that I am working with at the moment. I tried with depth starting at zero and going to negative and then starting at material height then going to zero with the same effects. I am going to try some of the others items mentioned here in a second.

so did you remove the extra z movement manually or did you get that tap file straight from post code on lazy cam. If you got it to post from lazy cam like that what did you change.

Hi, David

It's a modified .pst for LCam, It is just below the picture 2 posts back, Put it into c:\Mach3 folder , Then in LCam click on Post Code button, Then click on Set Post Processor Button, Find the "Mill Example 08 25 08 new A.pst" and select it.

Now it will be used for your post's in LCam and it will generate the G-code I posted.

sorry to be such a bother Chip but now that I am looking at it isn't a circle one line of code. Under my entities it is showing as two entities and type is showing an arc.

I think I found what it was. I just needed to set the lead ins to zero. That seems to have fixed it.

Hi, David

The G-code that's produced are single circle's, Is this creating an Issue ?

what I was noticing when I started the program fresh today no problem, but once on for a while I tried opening up a dxf and boom 2 arcs for a circle. I closed the program and reopened it and back to circle it went. Now that I know what to do no big deal but I was just wondering if I am changing anything unknowingly to cause this to happen.

Can you post a screenshot of what you see? sounds kind of like it might be an IJ mode issue but why I am not sure.

ok just got it to do it on a fresh dxf. You'll notice it made two arc entities to make the circle.

Closed lcam and opened the same dxf and back to cirlces with one entity.

Just out of curiousity, try setting your connection tolerance to 0.0100  in the EXTENTS tab.

I have gone from 0-.00000001 they only thing that fixes it once it starts opening dxfs like this is to close down lcam and reopen.

The entry may need to be LARGER. Looks like you are setting it SMALLER.
Try 1.00000 just for kicks.

Just tried the 1.0 and didn't work once I get it to start opening the dxfs with the circles reading as two arcs no matter what I do only closing and reopening works
