Title: Mach3 capability
Post by: burried alive on August 05, 2008, 05:29:42 PM
I have wanted to build a CNC machine for a couple of months. Luck would have it that an application came up at work needing CNC control. But the application is a little complex for my rookie status. The basics of the machine are:
The machine will be an X Y controller for motion of a part to be serialized with letters and numbers under a very small, fixed location, sandblaster nozzle. The flow of sand and air will be controlled by an electrically operated valve under direction of Mach3.
The desired serial numbers need to be able to be generated sequentially by the software after a starting and ending point are entered onto a VB screen. After each part is serialized the machine should pause to allow changing to the next part and print on a parallel port printer the serial number just completed. The software should also be able to save to disk in PC all serial numbers used.
Sound like it can be done?
If all else fails, what version of VB do I need to learn in order to work with the VB in current editions of Mach3? Thanks
