Very nice looking stuff but check out the "Tool Advance" area. You have a button spelled "remeber". I believe you meant "Remember"?  ;)

Hey Dave,
I'm sorry ...Mach Motion should have everything up on Monday I belive.
Also will upload the Lathe and Plasma versions...The screen is built from all of the "Mach Components" so I will update these as well. It will be another week or so before everything get uploaded.

I got a reply from MachMotion last week, I think on Thursday or Friday (I am not at home so I can't get the exact date) saying it would be a few days before they got everything uploaded and that the screen set would have a selling price of $199.00.  I did not inquire as to whether that price included updates and bug fixes.

Hi Fever16,

100% any issues or bugs found are fixed, one on one phone support is available at Mach Motion as well.

Give a call or email for support, we love to talk about Mach, CNC machining as well as suggestions and enhancements you would like to see.

Our mission is to make the very best CNC GUI available.

Mach Motion has added a large number of enchantments to the screen since Version 1.2.0, which in turn may have some of their functionality turned off by default.
This is a result of the "Stored Settings" available in the screen. Your settings are not "overwritten" when installing an update or reinstalling the screen, so we have added an option in the installer to "Restore Default Settings".

We are almost done with the documentation for the screen and will have it available locally in the screen as well as via the web.

LED 1813 set to "0" will turn on the keyboard via VB.

Here is a list of some commands you can call to the screen via VB:

iam sorry for my late reply.
and thanks for the response.

as far as the setup is concern.we received MachMotionPro1.0.1A.exe at first via email.later it got updated to MachMotionPro1.0.2B.exe
we had issue with both the versions.
Like:
in A:
1.wizards not working
2.not able to add tool length
3.not abe to load keyboard from sub menu.

and in B:
1.same as above wizards not working
2.keyboard not at all working(even at mdi)
3.not able to load G-code

so currently we are running the system using old A version.

and VB method never worked to bring up keyboard(tried on B version)

so when ur going to release Version 1.2.0.i need to solve all these issues as soon as possible.

Does anyone know if and how the function of the 'zero probe' is available in MachMotion? I'm talking about a function like this ...

I bought MachMotion a couple of days ago and still discovering it ...

Thanks a lot for you help!

Post by: zealous on March 03, 2009, 08:41:52 AM
Yes 'zero probe' will be included in the screen as well as a few enhanments...ETA: Soon :)

1.   Add Status bar to Keyboard.
2.   Add Button to keyboard to convert number to MM/Inch
3.   Prompt to confirm Zeroing an axis.
4.   Fix rewind and run from here buttons.
5.   Sub menu /MDI button:  When you hit the up arrow to it should let me click on the last thing entered.
6.   On the program run screen, when you are running a file it allows me to hit the load gcode button.
7.   Allow me to write to the user labels on the main screen. (They may already be userlables, I just need to know what the dro numbers and user label numbers are.
8.   Files/: Remove the Rewind button
9.   Offsets/Fixture Offsets: Rename the first column from “Offset” to "Current Part Position" or something like that.
10.   On the trace outlining function the button "Stop Trace needs to stop mach instead of feedholding it. Also the trace speed should be called a feedrate.  When it finishes tracing I would like it to say that it is finished or just close out the trace box.
11.   When you hit “Estimate Run Time” while it is estimating the button says "Stop Simulating" It should say "Estimating Run Time" Or something like that.
12.   Nudge buttons should all be the same layout as the jog buttons. And the text inside the button should be the same as the jog buttons.
13.   On most of the screens where it shows the tool data, it should show the tool description. And on the DRO screen it should show the tool length. And if you are going to show the tool change position on the DRO screen it should have XY and Z. Also relabel "Change Position to "Tool Change Position".
14.   Somewhere add a Label that lets us know what profile you are running
15.   Make the main DRO's change from Green to Red if they are in Machine zero
16.   Diagnostics/Motors/Spindle: Takeout the Pulley Display. I just want the button to setup the pulleys
17.   Diagnostics/Inputs: not all the led's work in here.
18.   Diagnostics/Ports and pins: you have the right number with led, but I would like them in order. 10, 11, 12, 13, 15 for port 1 and Port 2.
19.   Diagnostics/Outputs: Digitize needs to be moved to the inputs page. (Digitize is a input not a output)
20.   Diagnostics: Rename General Config to "Screen Config" Or something like that!
21.   Add a step by step tool setup, with or without a gage block/touch sensor Height
22.   Add text to explain function or help file.
23.      zero probing

There should be no problems running the pendant with the screen.
If you ever encounter an issue you can always email or call Mach Motion for support and they can make the proper changes to ensure functionality.

Hello, Zealous

I bought the MACHMOTION screen, after installing and testing, I found some flaws and I have some doubts.
I sent email to Joel (MachMotion), and he did not reply! I lost U $ 199.00?
You could help me?
Below my doubts.

1. Single Block - button, only appears on a screen and do not work when
accessed.
There is no Led in the other pages to indicate that this mode is selected.

2. The execution time of program is always reset when stop is triggered, thus
lose the basis of previous time, it would be better just stop time and do not
delete it.

3. What is TSpindel? He acts not only when triggered Spov + or-Spov, he should
show the current rotation?

4.How I do to access the AMPS and K and L and P?
They are a random number of 238 in all.
What OEM / Dro needed to measure the Spindel AMP?

Thank You.......

Hi Prendice,

1. Good point I will add a "Single Block" LED/Button along side of the run buttons. Now that we have a working "Feed HOld" LED this will free up room for teh "Single Step" LED.

2. Yes the time will reset this is in internal timmer in Mach and that is how Mach works with the elaps time.

3. "TSpindel" is "True Spindle Speed"

4. User DRO's- Amps: 2000, K: 2001, L: 2002, P: 2003.
You can simple click on the lables name to change what it says.

For example to change the userlabels (this will work for your X,Y,Z,A,B labels as well):
A. Click on "Amps"
B. type in something else like "Rotation"
C. then save your settings.

Thanks, Zealous

But what about the Single Block button? He really does not work.

It will be great to have led to indications of SB.

How can I make a button with the " Script Button", for example, a button of "Auto Tool Zero" or other ...

Ok I understand that this is TSpindel, but on my screen it only works in the range of rotation, ie when I turn or change the rotation, but after that it back off of the state .. I need an encoder in Spindel ....... to measure the rotation real?

Where can I get a longer version with these changes?

I need another "keycode"?

Thank You.

Prendice

There is a Single Block (Button/LED) Under the sub menu "Controls".
If single step is on it will turn green and say "Single Step Active"

You can add script to the buttons, there are help video's located on the main menu on how to do this.
Simply under the sub menu you click on the edit button and add your code...you have the option to run code "On Release" or/and "On Press" of the buttons.

I have just gotten off the phone with them, your email might have gotten lost try sending another eamil, or at any time you can call them.

You can call MachMotion or email them at:

Zealous,

I think that has something wrong.
My version is 1.0.2.B, I received less than 2 weeks.
It does not work many functions ..
In the video has a button "Tooling" on my screen is Offset "..
Below some functions that do not work.

Screen Limits:
Soft limits
Z Inhibit off
Machine
To Go
Online

Screen Controls:
Single Block
M1

Scripting
Brains

Tool Path:
Mcodes

Manual overide off limits
Jog Mode
Jog on

In Simulate mode, it acts as Run and do not show the Estimate Time.

Rotate
Pan
Zoon, such functions do not work

Tool Offset Information:
Auto Zero
Remember
Ignore tool change on

Finally, there are several functions that in my Machotion not work, maybe issue a release or installation.

I await your response.

There is documentation on how to setup Mach3 with your machine under the help section.
You will need to go into Mach3's settings and define a number of settings to the type machine you are using.

If you would like you can give Andy a call or email him and he will help you setup Mach with your machine.

Please contact Andy at:

Zealous,

The problem is not setup Mach3.
I did more than 15 machines with Mach3.
The problem is more complex.
For example the button "Online" does not work when activated, but when the Mach3 config menu, under "Operator" I drive "offline Control", the LED of the button on-line changes state.
I am attaching it with the previous message and sending to Tech@machmotion.com, I hope to answer them this time.

Zealous,

I sent email to tech@machmotion.com with what I sent to you earlier, but had no response from them.
I think really that I lost my money.
It is very bad to know that ...
The Screen has many errors and we do not have any support them.
To make the payment they promptly responded to e-mail, but now I do not have any answers.

I am disappointed.

I understand your disappointment.

If you're spending $200 on a Mach3 Screen Set you should expect all the features to work flawlessly.

Sorry you're having issues, maybe MachMotion will do the right thing and refund your money.

Prendice,

Had you tried to call them using the phone number that "zealous" had provided for you?

While I have no affiliation with machmotion or Artsoft, sometimes emails don't always work and when it's a matter of a serious problem like this or very much money on the line, I would think a call would be your best bet.

Hope this works out for you-
Dave

I apologize for your disappointments!!!

MachMotion has had great support both email and phone and I am very surprised that you did not get an response. Somehow there is some communication traffic.

If you could email me your contact information at zealouseappex@comcast.net  I will make sure they set things right.

All of the features should work flawlessly...if they do not MachMotion will fix them   :)

MachMotion has a large number of diffrent types of machines running the screen if they can not duplicate the issue, they would ask the customer to call MachMotion or report a step by step report of the issue via email.

Mach Motion has not received any emails or phone calls from you and I have been on a job site for the last few weeks, so I apologize that I could not respond quicker.

I spent today reviewing your list and could not find any issues with the screen.

However Mach does have a few bugs its self that you are seeing on 2 of the case's ;)
Please read over Artsoft's bug list... oh wait it is not up yet :( when it is made available.

We currently have hundred of people running the screen and have not reported back any of these issue, please watch the videos included and/or read the Mach Manuel.

With the little time I have I can post some quick guide to the problems you are having.

First off very important:

Chapter 3.2.1: Most will not work unless Mach3 is reset and out of the EStop state, You have a valid license of Mach and are not running in DEMO MODE.

Screen Limits:

Soft limits :

-   Soft Limits is working you have to set them in the config panel

Z Inhibit off :

-   Check under Config/Safe_Z_limit (check that it is set to machine cord)

Machine

-   This is to change the top DRO’s to display machine cords/Offset cords

To Go

-   This is to change the top DRO’s to display distance to go

On-line

6.2.15.4 Offline
This toggle and warning LED "disconnects" all the output signals of Mach3.
This is intended for machine setup and testing. Its use during a part program will cause you all sorts of positioning problems.

Screen Controls:

Single Block

-   You can not Feed Hold the machine and then do a Single Block

6.2.7.5 Single BLK
SingleBLK is a toggle (with indicator LED). In Single Block mode a Cycle Start will
execute the next single line of the part program and then enter FeedHold.

M1

-   You will need an M1 Command in the Gcode…you cant nest a M1 currently in Mach

Scripting

Brains

-   You will need to click on the top menu and hit Brain Control.
This is a know bug…Hopfully this will be resolved in the next Mach updatee

Tool Path:

Codes
-   Don't know what you mean?

Manual override off limits

-   You need to have tripped a switch to turn this on.

Jog Mode

-   Works fine you might have to check you pin config

Jog on

-   Works fine you might have to check you pin config

In Simulate mode, it acts as Run and do not show the Estimate Time

-   This will not estimate time but do a Offline run. Use the Estimate time button

Rotate
Pan
Zoom, such functions do not work

-   All of the above are for the toolpath screen

Tool Offset Information:

Auto Zero

-   This might not work on your machine. You may need certain hardware.

Remember

-   You have to set " remember" first, then hit "return"

Ignore tool change on:

-   This is working no know issues

If you can not resolve the issue with the answers above please email Mach Motion and they would be more then happy to talk to you on the phone or via email.

David,
We have not added the probing or any other features like that yet.  And I don’t have a time frame for when we will be adding them.  We do have six user buttons that can be setup to do probing, and about 4 user DRO’s that are on the main Run screen that can be used along with the probing.

Thanks

Hi, I'm retrofitting an Esab vision 1000 cnc on a Sabre 3000 gantry with Mach3 running either an Itronix gobook or panasonic toughbook using CSLab's newest ethernet drive controller set up with analog 10v to interface with the the machines elmo dc drives.  I'm interested in your ultimate screen as it applies to plate burning.  Do you have any screen shots for plasma and oxyfuel torch cutting?

I just ordered and paid for this new screen....Dang! should never have done that!...it installed or was installing and when it pulled some adobe software in everything went tits up! its taken me 4 hours of my very precious free time to get my machine back to where it was before this little drama started! I ve got other work to do and now must catch up on those lost hours...oh well requested a refund so lets hope that goes better than the install!
