Title: Mach 3 setting up
Post by: Moldmaker on May 27, 2006, 01:15:45 PM
I am just setting up my cnc system  I have a computer that I got to run mach 3  I installed xp on it to try it.  it is the processer is an AMD 1300 Duron  Now I have not got the ability to hook to the internet  But when I try to run Mach 3 I get an engine initailazation air.  I have not installed any thing but Mach 3 on it.  So do I have to be hooked to the internet to install it or is the processor the problem.

no you dont have to be hooked to the internet to run Mach. Have a look in the Mach3 folder in the C drive (if you installed in default loactaion) and double click on Driver Test.exe. This will test out if your computer can run Mach. If it fails then you can try the optimisation of XP which you should find details of on the Mach website.

Also might be worth re-downloading and installing Mach again just in case your initial download was corrupt.

I have run the drive test and it locks up.  But I reinstalled mach and the drive test still locks up but Mach 3 still runs  but I am havinfg a hard time calibrating it to the machine maybe it could be the computer is just not fast enough.
I will work on it  I am just trying to keep from having to move this computer in there to run it and then lose the internet
Thanks

 Joe

I guess this is why it is a hobby

If the drive test locks up then I think you need to follow the instructions in the Optimisation file that you will find on the Mach site.

Hood Thanks

I went and printed out the optimisation file and it worked great.

I was also told by someone at work that Mach 2 works better then 3 he said there are still bugs in 3  is this true

Thanks again Joe

Mach3 has MUCH less bugs in it than Mach2...
Hope that helps
