Title: Night Vision CNC screen pics
Post by: poppabear on June 19, 2008, 07:06:10 PM
Hey,

This is from my almost complete High End CNC control solution, I found a sheet metal guy that is making me a cool box to hang it all in. The soft buttons along the bottom scroll for other functions, and the buttons on the right side control Paging.  There are Physical buttons below the soft Keys along the bottom and sides that will activate what ever function is in the soft key above it when pressed. Kinda the way Fanuc, Siemans and a few others do.
The Screens are set up in a Higharchy, that goes down into deeper and more esoteric functions as you scroll into them.

Here are some screen shots of a 5 axis part being cut, (G-code paused for the screen shots).

Nice work, clean and easy to follow with nothing to distract the operators attention from the job a hand.

Looks like it might work well with a touch screen also.  Do you have that in mind?

Thank you John,

I currently have an ELO 15" touch screen on the Prototype, so it was designed with touch in mind, or the physical function buttons that are under and to the side of the screen, they are there for those people who happen to have really Greasy fingers and don't want smears on their screens, or for those who choose No touch screen.

All the functions can be accessed from the Keys, you dont have to even touch the DRO's to enter the data, you can just Tab though them on the current screen your own, and then enter the data.

Hi Scott,

That is nice to know, I have a 10.4" display on order with a touch panel and will be installing it in my Advantech AWS-843 industrial work station.   I will be doing a screen for use with the touch panel also.

Are you going to make your screen set available to others?

Thanks

My plans are to sell a complete control solution as a computer, enclosure, CNC panel, MPG+pendant, Keyboard, Optional mouse.
I am looking at this as a "High End" control solution for Big Complex machines, i.e. Mazacks, Mori, Okuma what ever 2-6 axis stuff.
I may consider selling it on an individual basis, if some conditions are met as far as protecting the work is concerned.

Options on:
PP vs. SS
PLC 06 or 205 depending on I/O needs (PLC programiming for ATC's, Drive Parameter monitoring and I/O, Pallet changers, Swarf convayors, etc.)
Full Drive/panel packages of various levels
DNC Wireless or Wired

The guy who is doing the sheet metal should be getting close to an enclosure design.

I really like your Machine Setup screen. I would like to create one for my use. How did you access the areas in Config. I can't find the codes. Ben

Thanks for the quick reply. Sorry to bother you again but I'm a few brain cells short of finding it in the Wiki. By the way those cells are currently unavailable, they are working in an area that usually keeps me in trouble. Thanks again. Ben

I just looked in the WIKI for the VB Menu Calls and did not find a thing about it.  Of course I may have missed it but I thought I did a pretty thorough search for them.

Where in the WIKI are they?

Thanks

this was posted by Art some time ago.........
I did put up the entire list, but the menu format has changed since then, so I suspect it was removed due to the new stuff/changes.
Just use the below to figure out what you want to do.

The VB Format is: DoMenu( item, sub-item )
Where “item” is row, starting with “File” at number “0”, going to the right till “Help” at number “7”.  Where “sub-item” is the column number of the sub-menu starting at the top with the first sub-item numbered “0”, from top to bottom.
i.e.,   DoMenu( 0,1 ) would be the same as calling LazyCam.

so, there you go..........
