Title: Wow lathe looks so different to mill
Post by: M250cnc on April 28, 2008, 06:02:02 PM
I have finally been doing some cutting rather than cussing since i have got my new motor and VFD working.

My next project is the lathe, but you can't get Mach Mill mixed up with Mach Lathe can you  ;D ;D ;D

I hope its not gonna be another long and winding road to CNC utopia  :-[

OK,

How exactly do you bring up this display('s) since I am looking at doing both milling and turning on my Taig lathe?

Kristin, you can have multipul profiles and open the one you need at the time. You can also open any screen set from any profile if you go to view, load screens.

How do I create a profile, are there instructions in the manual or something online as to how to do it? I have seen some things like this but don't understand the syntax used.

Go to your Mach 3 loader Icon. Open it and you will see option to create new profile. Make a new name and copy an old if you want.

Brett,

I have seen that but have no idea how to make a new profile, what does the profile consist of motor tuning, axis and input/output settings? My instance is I want to use the program as a lathe (X,Z) and a mill (X,Y,Z) and a universal interface/screen would be nice to avoid confusion.  I looked either here or somewhere else for a Taig setup and found an .XLS file but was leary of loading it since I have no idea as to what each line means. Did not seem to be G or M code as far as I could see, so what is it?
