Title: engraving granite

hi all, could anyone give me any advise on how to engrave granite, i have my own home built cnc that i use for wood but i am really interested in trying my hand at granite but i havent a clue about tooling,

there is a fellow with a nice raster to vector program that has done quite a bit of 3d engraving in granite, I will try to find the link. If memory serves he was using half round (D shaped) carbide tools he was grinding himself , slow process but loooked really nice

Mach3 have plugin Impact/Laser engraving.You must have impact engraver (solenoid and plunger) with solid carbid tip mounting on Z axes.

In years past they used a rubber mask and sandblasted the openings in the mask.

they do it all the time with hand held routers. Diamond bits,lot of water it would be a mess unless you were geared for slop.Ask some questions at a shop that works stone counter tops or search lapidary supply.AL
