Title: Diagonal movements choppy
Post by: david0148 on April 01, 2008, 11:41:45 PM
I have been working with Mach3 since it was known as Master5 (several years)
I have an application on a two axis machine that requires very steady 45 degree cuts.
My problem at any speed is that the X and Y axis move in tiny "stair step movements"
as the cutter moves at a 45 degree angle.
I have tried everything I know to correct this but so far no luck.
The length of the cut is fine, but the edges have a saw blade effect.
It appears as if each axis is stopping and starting as the cutter proceeds.
The squares and rectangles are holding within .003 nicely.
The circles appear fairly smooth(any speed)
Only the diagonal moves are no ticably jagged, Is this something I have to
just live with or has anyone else seen anything similar?
Thanks
