Title: JOG (MPG) <-> mach3 communication
Post by: loky on March 29, 2008, 03:53:15 PM
Hi!
My friend who doesn't speak English asked me to write this and I have no idea about those things so forgive me if I mess something up.
He wants to build JOG (MPG) which will be connected to mach3, but he doesn't know how to make them communicate. If anybody can tell something more about that, please do...
Thank you

If he has a MPG then he only needs to connect the A and B signals from it to the parallel port and set these pins on the Config>Ports and Pins>Encoder MPG page. He can then use the utility "Calibrate MPG" from the Function  Confiig menu to set it to the right count and speed.

Thank you for your answer.
This is exactly what he said:
"I want to build "Jog" on atmega 128 which will be connected to mac3 through RS232 but I do not really know how to make communication between them"
I'm sorry...
