What do you mean start running? Just motors twitching or motors actually taking off and moving all the time?

Sounds like you must have something interfering with the parallel port. Run the DriverTest and see what the line looks like in that.

Are you using a charge pump? If not do a  search for 'charge pump', it it designed to keep your motors off until Mach starts...

Hi jd1uth

seems your saying before you even start Mach right?

Maybe you have a printer driver in there as well as the pulse engine and a document in W2Ks print queue? - just a (wild) thought...

Whatever, best not to start windoze with the rig switched on. Whilst booting a PC and loading W2K, the parallel port is chucking out all sorts of garbage. Turn your machine off until it's is up at least - preferably wait until Mach is up and running.

Hallo,
no need to change wiring if it works under Dos it should work under Mach3,
It has someting to do with your setup,First you need to get rid of the dos drivers, rename autoexec.bat and config.sys so the drivers are not loaded. then try again
Thanks Friedrich

No driver loaded in config.sys or autexec.bat and under windows 2000 no printer instald

configuration according to Mr. Wincklers page:

Hi, Jd1uth

Try this Xml file, Put it in C:\Mach3 folder, Run Mach3 .exe and select it from the Session Profile window.

It is setup as the "Mr. Wincklers page:", If your control is the same, It will probably need some adjustment.

May at least get you started again.

Hope this Helps, Chip

1GHz CPU and 256Meg memory although more memory makes big differences to screens especially when using XP.

Have you tried looking at your voltage coming out of the port? Have you run the DriveTest to see if the pulse is good? Have you tried tuning your motors?

you probably wont, sounds like its low on voltage, probably just a 3.3v port.
