I got dyna 2800 cheaply, would like to retrofit it to use with mach software. Would appreciate advice from anyone who done it with Dina.
Thank you

I am not familiar with the Dina setup, however there isnt many machines you cant convert.
Is it currently a stepper setup?

It is stepper setup and motors run very, very good from original contrall. I have started conversion yesterday and can’t get motors turning in whatever I tried.
I think I run through all possible combination of data on Mach3, table moves left and right (I started with X axis first). It doesn’t sound correct whatever I do. I still have old control working and I can hook it back just to compare.
I don’t use Geckodrives, just feed DIR and STEP on original driver board for X axes from corresponding printer port output.
From Dyna 2800 original control motors works beautifully, the movement of every axis is very smooth and dynamic.
It looks like I have to probably buy Geckodrives G201, may be Dyna original driver boards don’t get on well with Mach3 signals from parallel port.

Now most of the wireing done and machine works well with Mach3.
It moves and cuts smoothly in linear mode, cut rectanguler pocket using wizards librery
However when it start cutting arcs and circles the axeses straggling, motors make not healthy noise, what can it change to get it right?

I think what you are hearing is the steppers at slow speed.. try jogging the mill at low speeds.
