Title: Help with spindle speed command.
Post by: JonnyD on March 18, 2008, 05:15:31 AM
Hi guys,

I recently got my spindle to start running.  I'm running into some trouble which I can't seems to understand.

1) Mach3 doesn't seems to like my M-code
eg1.
G90 G64
 M6  T1 (TOOL CHANGE center_5) (MSG, LOAD TOOL # 1)
G0 G54 X0.4927 Y-0.5938
M03 S978

eg2.
G0 Z0.1
 G54 X1.362 Y-1.35 S769

It will always bark at any of the lines with "S" in it.

2. If I set my pulley1 for 200-3500 is there any reason why max limit error occur @ 2500 RPM and limit out at 2500 RPM.

3. If I only have one pulley between my motor and spindle (Syil SX3) where my typical "manual" speed range is 200-3500 RPM, what should I set my pulleys 1-4 and is there anything else this newbie should set.

Thanks.

If you look at the settings page you will see the pulley number in use, it is the correct one?

Graham.

Graham, I did read through section 5.5.6 Spindle motor setup several times that's why I set my pulley #1 to 200-3500 with a 1:1 ratio.
The reason why I asked the redundant question#3 is because when I was second guessing myself.

Anythow, I think the issue of limit error is a "User Error", most likely I didn't save the settings prior to proceeding.  I went back and change pulley 1-4 to have the same settings 200-3500 with a 1:1 ratio then select pulley #1 and save and so far I don't get the error of max limit.

The other part of question #2 is probably the problem with Syil spindle control board.  I see in the other forums that a few ppls report them being off.

That still leave question #1 open.
Thanks
