Post by: Chaoticone on February 25, 2008, 10:14:51 PM
Hey everybody,
Does anybody happen to know the pinout for a Litton encoder. I have attached a picture to help.

Hi, Brett

If you could make it just a little bigger the whole wild world could see it.

If you'd clean it up a little it'll probably work one more time, (electrical contact cleaner).

Edit: Color code is probably, Blk Gnd, Red Pos, White A, Blu B, Grn Sig Gnd maybe Index is there a index ring on the disk ?

I'll give you a call tomorrow.

Thanks Chip,
A q-tip and a spin revealed an index count.  :)

I got the encoder all figured out  :). Not certain which is A and B channel yet, but will know soon. A friend suggested I look up the data sheet for the chip and it cleared it all up. This is a great link to a wealth of info.   http://www.datasheetcatalog.com/datasheets_pdf/L/M/3/3/LM339N.shtml

Chip, as far as I know this is correct. Not certain which is A and B channel yet, but will know soon. Green is the index pulse.
