Title: Turning in a mill

I have a DYNA 2800 mill and I am thinking I would like to use the machine as a lathe to make some new pull studs for my tool holders.  I could use my engine lathe to put the threads on the stud blanks, then thread them into a tapped plug in CNC mill spindle. The mill would then turn the profile. I'm just not sure if the "Z" axis on a CNC lathe is the spindle as it is in the mill etc. Has anyone done this? What issues would I have?

I have seen vids of a guy doing this to make taper endmill holders for his mill. He held the material in the quill and used a lathe tool in a vice and used the X and Z to turn the taper. I will try and see if I can find it. Also I think there is a guy doing similar with brass bushes and using a multi tool setup, I think his Vid is on Bennys YouTube site.
