Title: Mach Spindle Load Meter.
Post by: WillyB on November 27, 2005, 08:23:05 PM
Hi Guys

Just finished signing up and reading all the interesting posts.  Man, this CNC stuff is exciting. Can't get enough of it.

I do have a question on installing a Load Meter for the Spindle Motor and having it show up in Mach.  I am planning to use a 3 phase Motor and a VFD.  From what I have found so far, most of the VFD's do not have any type of output signal for the amount of currant the Motor is drawing?  I will also be using a Peter H. IOMod Board if this would help?  Has anyone installed a Spindle Load Meter?  Thanks for the help.

Regards
WillyB

When I did the video I had it running from the drive (0-10VDC) to the PLC. The PLC was set up with modbus and Mach was taking  the value into the macro pump... please check out the video on macropumps :) I told a bit about it in there..

Peter's ModIO should work very well for this as well.

Thanks
