Title: cut direction cant be changed
Post by: Spinnetti on January 05, 2008, 08:34:07 PM
I have a license to Mach3, but not lazycam (at least until I can be sure it works). I may just not be smart enough to use it, but tooling offsets don't do a thing, and no matter what I click or how, it only cuts counter clockwise. Before I spend my hard earned money, I'd like to at least see it work once. Any ideas? I see both the settings and cut direction under the "Offsets" tab, but they don't do anything.

Thanks, and apologies in advance if somebody already explained this (Chip?)

Hi, Spinnetti

Mill seems pretty good, still a few bugs though, Hears a couple more shots, It's still Bata Version at this point.

The one with step cut's also shows Tab's on the bottom cut.

If you need the DXF i'll post them to.

Thanks, Chip

OK Chip, now how did you get the drawing to flip to the side like that? I've watched the videos and I must have missed that one!

lol! Right away, I'm labeled a drunk, eh?

Seriously though, I have a laptop so no wheel mouse button so I'm not sure how to access that operation. I'll give a websearch on that, thanks so much, Chip-

Hmmm... I'll go try again in the morn and take some screen shots. I can select it, but it doesn't do it. Your screens show a bit different than mine I think. Anyway, thanks for the tips, and I'll check again tomorrow. I downloaded a bunch of demos of other stuff, and was able to do it with Desknc? - can't remember atm lol.

Hi, Dave

Sorry for the Hummer, Just one of those days.

Thanks, Chip

No problem, Chip, I can handle it. It wasn't the first time and it sure won't be the last-  ;)

I actually found an application that allows me to set it up so that when pressing both buttons on the laptop, it allows the use of the autoscroll so now I'm golden.  ;D

Spinetti, never meant to intrude on your  thread and wanted to thank you as well for asking some interesting questions for the past couple of days, I've learned a lot from them-

? When I click and drag the center mouse wheel it rotates in 3d, but why am I seeing 4 levels of this part
it's a single line part with a zero Z depth?

you would have to post your dxf for somebody to look at it to make sure. it sounds like your cad is producing extra chains and stuff.you got to clean that up.
lcam will try to do something with everything it finds .

Here is the lcam file.
DXF was only single layer.

Thanks Brian,

I opened your dxf in ProgeCad and did nothing to it, just saved it as a AutoCad 12 type file and then opened it up in LCam.

I'm not having the issue you're having as you can see below. I think your problems with LCam are definitely with your files that are being drawn.

I totally disagree.
I imported this file in Sheetcam, Autocad, corel X-4 , mastercam, and visual mill.
All had no problems.
When LCam writes the Gcode for the profile, it's perfect.
just when I free rotate with the wheel of the mouse it gets funky.
Look at the pic below

Oh I'm not doubting you at all, Brian, I'm just saying that for LazyCam in particular, it doesn't like your files.

Not saying your files are wrong, just wrong for LazyCam - ;)

For some reason with ProgeCad, it works very nicely.

uninstall that copy of lcam, reboot, download a fresh copy.
post your computer specs, and is your video card built on the motherboard.
