Title: iPod Nano Case
Post by: labuda on December 30, 2007, 03:35:33 AM
This was actually made on a manual mill... but i think it's cool enough to rival some of the things i've made on my CNC, which i got recently.

The designing was the long part. Once that done, it still took maybe 12 hours to machine because it was on a manual mill.
Yeah, it's anodized red and black.
Thanks for the comment :)

Thats sweet!! Are those magnets that hold it together?

Yeah, as soon as the two parts get into proximity, they immediately click together. It's pretty sweet.

The belt clip is also magnetically actuated. Repulsive magnets on top, and attractive on the bottom.

They only screws are the two that hold the hinge for the belt clip

Did you do the anodizing your self?

No, i befriended an anodizer in the factory about 15 minutes away from my place... I simply head there, hang out with him for half an hour while he anodizes things for me. Good deal!
