Title: Program will not run
Post by: ErnieD on November 16, 2007, 07:24:12 PM
I have Mach3 running on a Tormach PCNC 1100. I have had good success with it doing engraving up to now. Today when I loaded my file and pushed the start button the cutter went to the Z clearance height and would not move from there. I know that I am doing something wrong but what? I am not running the machine spindle but am using an auxillary spindle. With this sketchy info can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?

Thanks,

Ernie, do you have single block enabled? If so, it will only run one block of code per push of cycle start. Can view it on the program run page. If the led beside the button is lit, it is enabled.

Brett,

I do not have it set for single block. But there is something strange, I tried to run programs off line that ran successfully in the past and they will not go past the Z rapid plane. I know that I have something wrong but i cannot see it.

Do you have the feed rate down at zero?

Graham.

Brett,

No, Ii do not have the feed rate down to zero. I finally opened my eyes and saw an error message that read roughly " the R,I&J words are missing from line 7". This means to me that I must have something set up wrong when I told my CAM package to generate the code. I must confess that I am a "noobie" to CNC and am just now trying to learn M & G codes. I am 74 years old and this stuff is a struggle for me to assimilate. I will continue to work with everything and hopefully I will finally see the light.

Thanks to everyone who replied,

Ernie, if you haven't yet you can set the error messages to flash when they occur. I am the worlds worse at missing the error messages but if they flash at YA it may make it easier to notice.

Just a though, (;-) TP
