Title: HELP Mach 3 wont move
Post by: RYRY on January 12, 2023, 02:06:12 PM
Hello all,

I am fairly new to mach 3, but have cnc background. I had my computer crash that was running our  Taping machine, i was able to save the Mach 3 folder from the c:/ off the old hardrive.
My plan is to rebuild a new computer to run the machine but i am waiting for the ESS to show up, in the meantime to not lose production i found an old computer upstairs that had Windows XP (the same software as the computer that crashed). I downloaded Mach3 onto it and loaded all the old settings (whole Mach 3 folder from old harddrive).
My issue is that Mach 3 will load and i looked at the config and everything matched the old settings, but i cannot get the machine to move. Even the numbers in the axis wont move.

Check that the parallel port IRQ is correct, go to hardware settings and check the LPT config.

Go to Diagnostics screen and check the pulse rate is not Simulated.

I checked the LPT port it is 378 and it matches the port # in mach.
I went to diagnostics and i try and jog and i have no movement or lights lighting up. I did do a m03 to start the spindle and the spindle light lit up but no movement on the spindle.
