Title: z axis tripping when homed
Post by: primate on November 11, 2022, 07:45:56 PM
hi out there in cnc land wondering if any one can help I have a fully rebuilt EMCOF1 cnc wit servo motors and custom driver boards from electronics in motion here in australia and a warp9 main board. just managed to get her back up and running after a windows updated wiped out all the parameters and settings [ thanks windows  >:(] but i am having a big issue with the z axis dropping any time she loses power the spindle is a heavy unit 5kg + and i have installed a solenoid stop directly to the spindle shaft and that works great but only when i kill power to the whole machine, my biggest issue atm is that when i reference the z axis as home it loses power and trips the board and loses position, im just wondering if its normal that the motor  will lose power when the reference all axis home button is activated? any advice greatly appreciated and if any one has a solution or idea as to how i might add a brake or solinoid that brakes the axis any time the z axis looes power would be greatly appreciated .
