Title: Spindle feedback problems
Post by: babinda01 on October 26, 2007, 06:51:51 AM
Hi,
I am trying to set Mach3 up on a lathe.  I am using the index pulse from an encoder mounted to the spindle as feedback.  Mach3 accuratly moniters my spindle speed, I have checked with a laser tacho and the speed shown on the Mach3 screen is always with 1 or 2 RPM of my laser tacho (850RPM).  But when I go to use G95 I get a warning saying no feedback is found in G95 mode.  Any thoughts on what I should be looking at to sort this problem???
Thanks
Andrew

Hi Andrew, Go to config page, pins and ports, spindle setup. Make sure there is a check in the line for "USE Spindle feedback in sync mode."

Just as a reference, if you go to the diagnostic page. Then spin the spindle by hand does the index led light up as the sensor passes??

Ok in the diag sccreen is the feed sync led lit when you apply the g95? Do you  have the spindle running when you apply the g95?? The spindle may take a few revs to get synced up.

If none of the above effect it then we need to get ART.
