Title: New Mach3 install

Hello fellow  Mach  users,

I have recently upgraded win2000 to win2000 SP4, and now I don't see any outputs on the Diag. screen  when I jog an axis.  Is there a patch or plugin needed to fix this?

Hi, Markn

In your Mach3 folder you'll find a Driver Test Application, Click on it and let it run.

It will complete and close out, Then Re-Boot and run Mach3.

Hi Chip,
I have run the driver test  and it looked fine--just  like the xample shown in the manual. I think I will next uninstall and reinstall mach3.

Have you checked all of your settings? Did you save a copy of your XML?

Hi Brett,

Yes I cheched all the settings regarding the address of the Parallel port, how and why do I save a copy of the XML file? I don't have the PC hooked to anything yet, I am bench testing prior to hooking up the breakout board.

I am a bit confused as to what outputs you are not seeing when jogging?
To save your xml you just go to the mach folder and right click on the xml and copy then go to for example My Documents and right click and paste. The xml that you choose to copy will depend on which profile you are using, eg Mach3Mill.xml or Mach3Turn.xml or you may even have set up a customised profile, if so then it is that xml you want to copy.

Hi Hood,

The outputs I am referring to are on the Diagnostics screen. When I jog an axis shouldn't the step and direction pin LEDs light up on the symbol that represents the Parallel port?

I dont know to be honest. On my computer here which is not hooked up to anything their state doesnt change but possibly if there is a breakout board etc connected it will.

Hi, Mark

The "Port 1 Pin's current State" don't flash, The "Blended Spd" , Current and Machine Coord should be moveing.

Check your Direction Pin's at Printer port for 0 or 5 volts depending on direction.

In fact I do see the cordinates change as well as the "Blended Speed", by the way what is the meaning of Blended Speed?  What does it represent?

"Blended Speed" is an average speed of all axises that are moving at any given time.
