Title: modbus serial plugin enabled Scratching my brain over Brains?
Post by: zarzul on October 19, 2007, 05:44:38 PM
Well I am stuck and not sure where to go.

I have a DL06 plc talking to Mach3 via serial modbus.  It seems to work just fine with a few exceptions in Turn, but when I enable serial modbus plugin, I can't seem to toggle outputs on the plc anymore or see plc inputs change.   Do I need a brain for this?  Not a brain brain but a Brain program, that reads the modbus address and ports that over to the input,  along with a brain output that takes a mach3 output and ports that over to the modbus via the brain.

Arnie, others can correct me if I'm wrong, but the tick box for Enable modbus plugin is for a specific brand. I think it's for the Homann modbus. You can still use a plc, just don't enable that particular setting.

Arnie,

Did you get this one figured out?  I am having the same issue, except mine WAS working, and now I can't get it going.  Very frustrating.

as far as I can tell you have to use a brain after you configure the inputs, I haven't had any time to work on this, but the go to guy is poppabear.

Confirmed;
The tick box for Enable modbus plugin is for the Homann modbus via serial.  It should say than directly.  . It kills the TCP functionality.  Also, it appears Brains must be used to map Mach3 Input/output to TCP modbus.  In the later version Mach3 i.e. 3.043.066.  The ports & pins mapping does not seem to work.
