Title: Mach3 Jerky motor motion when Using MDI input
Post by: ben2travel on May 18, 2021, 09:54:22 PM
HI,
I'm after some help with Mach3 running an XHC controller (ethernet), Fully licensed version

I've been through all the motor tuning and the machine (3 axis router) runs smoothly when running code and or jogging with arrow keys + shift.

I've seen multiple posts on similar issues but not found a solution that works on any.

When i try entering and MDI instruction or try to use go to zero, the motors get jumpy and in most cases lose their position very quickly.

This is very frustrating and confusing as I understand the motor tuning sets the max allowable speed and when jogging at 100% the movement are perfectly smooth.

Similar here. Smooth jogging with MPG or keyboard
but start stop movement on all axes with gcode or MDI
all settings look OK CV mode etc.
But all works well with spindle on (even if spindle is powered off or set S0)
Scratching my head all day!

G0 speed is probably simply too high.

(Get a WARP9 ESS Motion Control Card instead.)
