Title: Mach3 Uc300
Post by: dly.xover on April 26, 2021, 05:51:19 PM
Hello all,
Im new to the world of CNC, and find the learning curve rather steep.

I have spent the whole day trying to get the home/limit switches and Estop working on my setup.

My setup is windows 10 running mach3, using a digital dream uc300 controller via USB.

I think it’s all configured right but I can’t get the switches to switch.
In the diagnostics windows they are on or off, ticking the active low in ports and pins makes it go off but no switching.
Anyone have any ideas why?
Its almost like its not seeing the inputs.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Hi dly.xover,

You need to contact the suppliers of your controller for their assistance in setting everything up correctly.

It is unfortunate but due to Mach3 License violation this forum does not support Digital Dream products.

Thanks for the reply Tweakie.

I was unaware of this issue, I have a mach licence.
what controller would you recommend instead of the uc300

Any of the US or EU manufactured controllers are suitable and well supported by their manufacturers & this forum.
If it's any help, one that I use with Mach3 is the Warp9 ESS - https://warp9td.com/

Hi Tweakie

I'm about to order the controller you suggested, would you go for the USB or Ethernet?

I've had more issues trying to get the machine running, it seems the UC300 S*$t the bed on the first test cut and has been 'unavailable' since.

thanks

Warp9TD have not manufactured USB connected motion boards for some years, the only current manufactured boards are
Ethernet connected, which is good news because Ethernet connection results in lower latency and much greater noise immunity.

Hi dly.xover,

The Ethernet version.

(The USB version is really only offered for sale by Warp9 as a 'replacement part' as all future development, bug fixes, etc., for the USB product have now ceased).

what do you use for adapter cable to go from the 26pin header cables?

Various cables are available from the Warp9 website;  https://warp9td.com/index.php/order#Ordering
