Title: MPG issue
Post by: comet on March 28, 2021, 09:36:57 AM
I am trying to get the 1x 10x 100x to work with the velocity of of an MPG on a uc300
I have set in hot keys triggers 1 2 3
I have tried associating jog increment 191 192 193,  and also tried step value 265 266 267  and it makes no difference at the wheel
The port monitor is showing the pins are changing at the selection via a rotary switch on the pendant.
and the axis change rotary switch is working.
  Any Ideas??

do a simple test first.
open VB Scriperwindow

Code: [Select]
  DoOEMButton(192)
  DoOEMButton(193)
  DoOEMButton(194)

open the Manual Tab
run through code with the >|| button and check for changing the step value

ok then normaly it is enough to assign the oemtroggers to the right port and pin
and add in System hotkeys the oemcode (192...) to the oemtrigger.

i have seen in UC300 Manual that there is apossibilty to assign Inputs to functions,
but i do not have a uc300 so i am not able to say what can be assigned there.

Are you surprised?

CNCDrive is the manufacturer of the UC300 but also the software UCCNC, which is a competitor to Mach.
I can't imagine why anyone at CNCDrive could get too excited by trying to help you when they have others
to help whom use UCCNC software.

Stranger things do happen - CNC Drive staff spend a lot of time helping Mach3 users and providing support for their Mach3 plugin.

I wouldnt mind betting the majority of cncdrive users use mach.
Plus its the users that give you the suggestions on there forum rather than the company.

Well, you might be right. I guess the 'proof is in the pudding'....to OP, 'have you had a response from the CNCDrive Forum?'

I have to compare this situation to the Warp9TD Forum, the manufacturer of the ESS, and there, Andy, the dedicated support employee
of Warp9TD answers all enquiries. Other forum members are invited to participate in the discourse but the site in principally a vehicle for
manufacturers support.

well if im honest the best motion controller ive used is the mega cheap bit sensor usb 4 axis module, they just work with no issues, got pretty much everything you need , if it craps out(not happened on the 5 machines ive built with them yet) you just buy another.

Well that's a very good recommendation however I'm bound to say that not so many people share that opinion. It must be conceded however
that the price is VERY compelling.

As you may have noted I use Mach4 and there is no Chinese manufacturer producing (credible) Mach4 ready boards. I am perforce required
to select from those US and European manufacturers whom have taken the effort to make one. Of those I believe the ESS is the best in terms of overall
performance verses price. CNCDrive products have a slight edge in price compared to the ESS but miss out on several important realtime support
features, and it must be said that CNCDrive's support is less than stellar by comparison to others in the same market including Warp9TD.

I guess we should celebrate the fact that with Mach3/Mach4 we have a choice of motion control products....and with that choice comes a wide variety
of opinion with respect to each products advantages/disadvantages. Diversity of opinion is a very good thing.
