Title: Change retraction value at cycle G73
Post by: daniba73 on February 26, 2021, 06:04:46 PM
Hi, as the title suggests I would like to know how to increase the feedback value in the G73 drilling cycle.
Cycle instructions on page 40 of the manual.
I ask this, because the deadlift is minimal, I would like to increase it slightly.
In Mach3 I operated on Mill Option.
How can I do with Mach4?

From theMill G-code programming manual found in the docs folder of your Mach4 installed folder;

"G73 – High Speed Peck
In materials that produce long stringy chips a high speed peck cycle can be used to break them up.
Unlike the G83 cycle that retracts completely out of the hole after each peck, the G73 cycle only retracts
by a preset amount in parameter 5114. See figure 73-1. This short retract helps to reduce cycle times
when a complete retract is unnecessary.
Parameter 5114: Integer value 0 to 32767"

This parameter is found in the profiles folder in the profile that you are using to run the machine.

Mike is always clear and kind.  I consider myself fortunate to have met him in person.  :)

The G code manual shows how to read and write parameters with G code.  Look for G10 L50.
