Title: Running G-Code slows machine
Post by: alevitt53 on September 18, 2020, 06:12:09 PM
CNCRounter parts 4896 with ESS controller.
Just switched to Mach4. Motors run at normal speed in jog mode.
As soon as it tries to run G-Code like test file attached, it slows to a snails pace.
Can't figure it out.
Any help appreciated
Thank you

Are you in Inches or MM?

inches

Also, if I run it line by line in the MDI window, it runs proper speed

The code looks ok so it must be on override that is active.

Do you have a hint where I might find that?

See attached. Click on 100% and 100%
or temporarily add
M49
at the beginning of the tap file to see if speed becomes normal.

Thanks for everyone's response. It turns out the motor tuning on the A axis was so slow that everything else slowed to catch up to it. Once I got the motor close to proper tuning, everything ran smoothly.
