Title: touch probe install on mack 3

Hi i am installing a touch probe on my cnc its all wired up and functions just need to enter the script and should be good to go ,however i do not have a homing switch on my Z axis to set zero home position ? im guessing this is required for the touch probe to work or am i wrong

A touch probe is used to set to set the tool in relation to the work surface (usually Z zero at the work surface) so Z homing is not required.

just checking don't know why i had a senior moment  ::) so as long as z zero is set up to table surface good to go ? . I have this already set in soft limits ...

Just a note...
Z zero is usually set at the top surface of the work rather than the table surface. This way +Z is above the initial work surface and -Z is below the initial work surface.
