Title: M10/M11 Control
Post by: fyshious on August 15, 2020, 05:10:18 AM
New here and have some questions about M10 and M11 commands.
I have built a CNC machine using Mach3 with a USB Motion Controller (Bitcom BSMCEO04-PP). This works well for me for 3D Sculpting and 2D engraving.
I want to venture into the realm of a laser but I am having trouble with the on/off control for the laser. As everyone is aware the M3,M5,etc commands are too slow and I have read that the M10/M11 commands are for this purpose.
I have the latest (?) version (.066) of Mach3 but cannot find  any reference to them in the setup or configuration.
Are these commands only applicable if you are using an ESS?
Are there any instructions/videos out there that show to set these commands up?
Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

Unfortunately the Bitsensor / RnR plugin combination does not support the M11/M10 command set.
The Warp9 ESS is not the only motion controller that supports these commands but it is one of the best.

Thanks for that.
I assume then that the ESS replaces my motion control card?
I see there are USB controllers available but is the Ethernet better than the USB?
Have checked the Warp9 ESS but as I am in Australia so will have to import one I guess.
Thanks again for the prompt reply

Yes the ESS would replace your existing Bitsensor card. Check out the Warp9 website for more details of the ESS https://warp9td.com/

It is a matter of opinion which is best but the Ethernet connected devices are less prone to electrical noise problems than USB connected devices. Having said that I have been using a Pokeys 57CNC with USB connection for some time now and never had any electrical noise issues.

Hope this helps.

Can anyone recommend any other budget USB CNC controller boards that are compatible with the M10/M11 commands that can be used for Laser cutting.

Thanks.

The Warp9 USS supports the M11/M10 command set but please be aware that both the USS and Mach3 are now obsolescent products.
