Title: Mach4 not recognising plugin files XHC MK3_M4
Post by: slanteng on June 30, 2020, 05:44:53 PM
Moderator if I have done anything wrong please help me to correct. First time poster and user of mach4 hobby so go easy!

I have read the main threads about XHC controllers. There is alot of technical information in this forum and at this point in time I have not been able to find a solution to my specific problem.

My installation is a fresh copy of Mach4 hobby.

I have read the manual and I am stuck at page 10 of the controller config.

I have installed the current drivers from the manufacture and put the files in the plug in folder as specified but they do not show up in the panel EVEN AFTER a hardware reset!!

How do I get the plugin to show up so that I may set a motion device and continue to setup my machine?

Thanks in advance.

Looking in HELP \ SYSTEM INFORMATION \

within the directory tree under PLUGINS

the plugin shows up as "NCUSBPOD" and that it is NOT "enabled"

So... how do I enable it?

Hi,
you need to enable the XHC plugin by checking the tick box and then restart Mach.
You need to then select the HXC card as 'Acive Motion Controller' and again restart Mach.

Prepare to be disappointed the XHC plugin does not support Machs GUI so many of the screens and all screen editing will not work.
It would appear the XHC plugin supports the wxMach screen only (non-editable).

I am sorry craig your going to have to be more explicit with in your instructions.

Where are you going to tick the box????????

On a side note I found the disk that came with the controller and it has a PROFILE folder as well as a plugin folder. The driver update for XHC did not provide those files as well. I am thinking this may be apart of the issue.

I am going to install the "profile" files and see if this helps also.

Hi,
first you have to install both the plugin, the .m4pw file, and the signature file, the .sig file
in the plugins folder.

Then the plugin should appear in the plugins list of Machs Control/Plugin page per the attached. Enable it
and restart.

Now select the XHC board/plugin as motion device per attached.

Sorry to be a pain... and I know your trying to help but... I have already covered in the initial posts the fact that I have "Read the manual up to the point I got stuck and followed ALL OF the instructions".

I have already stated I have installed the correct files into both the profile and plug in folders and done a software and hardware reset.

I am genuinely not trying to waste your time. In fact I thought I made everything every easy to understand :-(

The images you have posted show nothing in my situation. Hence the problem.

I will post pics of my own so you can see the issues I am having first hand.

Moderator please this delete post.

Solution has been found and I would like to start with a fresh post and provide a clean post with the solution to the issue I was having.
