Hi all,
I am about to get Mach 3 (or 4?) running on my new engraver (see other post on Hermes Vanguard).
What is the best computer carateristics to run Mach 3/4?
Thanks,
Pierre

Some thing that is not on board video and a single processor. 1.5Ghz Min with 512 ram should last for many upgrades..

Thanks, Brian.
Can we use AMD and Intel processor?
For HT (virtual dual processor), do we need to disable it?
Can we just disable the on-board video board and use an add-on?
For the parallel port, can we use PCI parallel port?
Thanks,
Pierre

I have an AMD here running... and I have an intel running it at work.
Some have to disable the HT but I have nt had a problem...
Yea The on board video should be okay if you disable it (I have that on this system)
PCI Pport cards work great!
Hope that helps

What's wrong with on-board video? I have 2 systems one AMD and one Intel both have onboard video and both seem to work fine. I'm not actually running a machine yet both both have cut virtual roadrunners.

it is a problem IF the video shares the RAM of the computer... I have onboard running here to but I have seen some that will not too...

Same here, I have had 2 systems (one that I am still using) that are running onboard video WITH shared ram.

I can tell you for certain that my old AMD N-force 2 integrated video (shared ram with system) works just fine. My Intel system is an old socket 370 celeron system industrial PC - I think it has it's own ram for video.
